For each chemical you may define at least dozen of properties which then may serve you at your look ups, and safety enforcent

Itroduce new chemicals, delete exisiting chemicals

When new supplyed is shipped to your lab, you would like to update the application to include new stuff.

Check in/out new ammounts for existing chemicals

Having conducted some experiment you would want to update the quantity of particular chemical. You would do that by checking in/out that particular chemical.

Highly configurable application

It may be easily tuned up to include new laboratories, new storage locations within each lab, families (there are predefined familes for each lab), new storage units, as gramms, ampules, bottles, etc.
